Beginners Power-Boating
(18 to 90 years old. No experience required) Want to learn to drive a powerboat safely, learn the difference between planing and displacement? Then this is the course for you. It leads to the RYA Level 2 award, which is the prerequisite of Windsurfing and Sailing Instructor awards and of the International Certificate of Competence.

Safety Boat
(18 to 90 years old. level 2 required + 1 full seasons experience) This course works towards the RYA Safety Boat award. You must have good boat-handling skills in a variety of conditions before attending this course. The course covers all types of safety including rescuing and towing dinghies, windsurfers and canoes.

Inland Waterways Helmsman
This course is aimed at those people wishing to learn to use a narrow boat on the canals and river systems. It can be run on your own narrow boat, or our 27ft narrow beam cruiser or a 67ft narrow boat. It is a legal requirement if you wish to use your own boat on the inland waterways of Europe. Dates by arrangement.
One or two days according to experience.
Cost £130 per head per day. Minimum of 2 students.


International Certificate of Competence
If you intend to drive a powerboat (or Canal boat) in mainland Europe you will require the appropriate International Certificate of Competence from the RYA. To obtain this you need to have gained the Powerboat Level 2 or Inland Waterways Certificate, and to have passed the C.E.V.N.I test. The C.E.V.N.I. test can be taken at HYMB Cost £20.
